N°005·True-Peak Mastering Limiter
LIMIT/X
Loud enough?
Legal enough?
Spotify normalizes to -14, YouTube plays by different rules, the club wants -7, broadcast demands R128. Every destination is a different rulebook, and your master has to pass all of them.
One dB too far,
and it splatters.
Inter-sample peaks don't clip in your DAW. They clip in the listener's converter, after the file has shipped. Your sample-peak meter saw nothing.
A wall that
thinks ahead.
A lookahead detector and 4× oversampled ISP reconstruction, the brickwall sees the peak before it exists, and holds the ceiling without cracking the transient.
Numbers the
platforms trust.
EBU R128 built in, complete: momentary, short-term, integrated, LRA and true-peak max, the exact numbers your distributor wants to see, measured to the standard.
Masters that
travel.
One master, every platform: pick the target, push into the wall, read the numbers, deliver. No second-guessing, no second plugin.
How it works
[ THREE MOVES ]Pick a destination.
Streaming, YouTube, Apple, CD, Club, Broadcast, one click sets the LUFS target and the ceiling for wherever the master is headed. The platform's rules become your starting point, not your homework.
Drive into a wall that thinks.
The lookahead brickwall sees transients before they land, auto-release adapts to the program, soft-clip rounds what would otherwise crack. Loud without the splatter.
Ship with numbers.
EBU R128 momentary, short-term and integrated, LRA and true-peak max, measured to the standard, on screen the whole time. The exact numbers your distributor wants to see, before they ask.
True peak
Loud. Lawful. Transparent.
4× oversampled inter-sample peak detection catches the overs your converter would print, and EBU R128 metering sits in the core, not bolted on as a second plugin. Set the ceiling once; the master clears every gate downstream.
Signal path
Five stages to the ceiling.
The detector looks ahead, the brickwall holds the line, the saturation stage rounds the edges, dither closes the word length. Every stage can be switched off, what stays in the path is your decision, not ours.
00, Live
This is the real LIMIT/X.
Not a render, not a mockup, the actual prototype, running in your browser right now. Keep scrolling and we'll walk you through it, section by section.
01, Targets
Pick a destination.
Streaming, YouTube, Apple, CD, Club, Broadcast, one click sets the LUFS target and ceiling for wherever the master is headed. The platform's rules become your defaults, not your homework.
02, Metering
Five views of loud.
Gain reduction over time, spectrum, transfer curve, true-peak histogram, vectorscope, switch the lens, keep the picture honest. I/O meters flank the display on the left and right.
03, Loudness
EBU R128, no detours.
Momentary, short-term, integrated, LRA and true-peak max, measured to the standard, parked directly under the meter. Always visible, never a second plugin away.
04, Expert
Eight numbered sections.
Detector, release shaping, saturation and clip, loudness, dither, output, quality, every deep parameter, filed and collapsible. Fold them out when you want to know exactly what's happening.
05, Hands-on
Four knobs, four toggles.
Input, Ceiling, Release, Lookahead carry the session; True-Peak, Stereo-Link, Auto-Release and Soft-Clip sit right beside them. Most masters never need more than this row.

[ USE CASES ]"It's the first ceiling I trust enough to stop checking with three other meters."— Mastering Engineer · Stockholm
Beta voices
[ FIELD REPORTS ]“It's the first limiter where hitting -14 LUFS doesn't feel like a punishment. The mix still breathes.”
“The histogram caught an overshoot that would have gone straight onto the vinyl master. That one feature paid for the plugin.”
“I pushed it way too hard just to see what happens. It just... holds. Slightly scary, honestly.”
