N°001·Spectral Painting Equalizer
EQ/X
Every move.
A menu.
Classic EQs make you think in band numbers, filter types and Q values before you've heard a single change. Twelve clicks for one decision.
You mix with
your eyes closed.
The curve on screen is an idealized diagram, not what the filter is doing to your actual spectrum, right now, on this material.
Draw.
Don't dial.
EQ/X turns the spectrum into a canvas. You paint the curve you want to hear, points, strokes, erases, and the engine distributes the bands.
The math follows
your hand.
Up to 64 bands, asymmetric Q, per-band dynamics, assigned automatically, rendered honestly over the live spectrum. What you see is the filter.
EQ at the
speed of taste.
From hearing a problem to fixing it: one gesture. The interface disappears, the decision remains.
How it works
[ THREE MOVES ]Paint the curve.
Click for points, drag for freehand strokes, bands appear where your hand goes, directly on the live spectrum. Scroll to tighten Q, drag the HP/LP flags along the top.
Pick a temperament.
CLEAN, VINTAGE, API, NEVE or CONSOLE, five analog characters that change how the same curve bends, glows and saturates. One click, different studio.
Read the truth.
The spectrum under your curve is live, the correlation meter never sleeps, and the curve you see is exactly the filter you get. No flattery, no fog.
Spectral painting
An EQ you draw, not dial.
Up to 64 bands with asymmetric Q, bell-to-notch morphing and per-band spectral dynamics, placed by hand, not by menu. Mid/Side splits the canvas in two; PAINT, MATCH, TONAL and SURGICAL change what your strokes mean.
Signal path
Short path. Honest math.
Four stages, nothing hidden: filters first, the 64-band engine second, character colour last. Choose minimum, linear or natural phase per project, the path stays the same, the math tells you what it costs.
00, Live
This is the real EQ/X.
Not a render, not a mockup, the actual prototype, running in your browser right now. Keep scrolling and we'll walk you through it, piece by piece.
01, The canvas
Draw your EQ like a sketch.
Click for points, drag to paint whole curves, scroll for Q. The live spectrum sits underneath, HP/LP markers drag along the top, what you see is exactly what the math does.
02, Character
Five analog temperaments.
CLEAN, VINTAGE, API, NEVE, CONSOLE, curve behaviour and saturation colour of five console legacies, one click apart. The same move sounds different in each.
03, Modes
Paint. Match. Map. Operate.
PAINT draws freehand, MATCH chases a reference curve, TONAL balances on a 2D map, SURGICAL hunts resonances with narrow Q and problem-frequency hints.
04, Bands
Every band, fully dressed.
The sidebar lists every active band with its own gain and asymmetric-Q sliders, filter type, spectral dynamics, solo and bypass. Collapse it when you just want the picture.
05, Engine
Resolution to taste.
8 to 64 bands, smoothing, output gain, minimum/linear/natural phase and a quality dial from ECO to STUDIO, the engine room, one rail to the right.

[ USE CASES ]"I've spent twenty years clicking through band menus. Drawing the curve directly is how it always should have worked."— Mixing Engineer · Berlin

[ FIELD REPORTS ]“I'll be honest, I bought it because it looks cool. Three weeks in and I haven't opened my old EQ once.”
“There's been a ring around 2k in my mixes for years. SURGICAL found it in about ten seconds. I was almost annoyed.”
“I showed it to my intern and she just got it. No manual, no questions. That basically never happens.”
